Custom two-sided, hand-carved ID for new gift shop downtown Chatham, Cape Cod.

Original design by Joe Rees is also used for the store's logo on all their print work.

1.5" thick MDO cores are completely encased all sides with 18lb HDU (High Density Urethane) carving foam. Carved "rope" border wraps fully around peremeters. (very difficult).

Gift box in center is also made from HDU. Box is actually made in two halves, each showing a 3/4 view of the box so the bow on top is visible and looks natural from either side. This was a bit of an 3-D engineering feat that really works beautifully in application.
   The lines of the paper wrapping and ribbon are carved in relief. The bow on top is a seperate unit made from actual cloth and coated with several layers of West Systems Epoxee to make rigid.
   Lettering is carved and gilded with 23k gold. Shells are 3/4" HDU appliques, also gilded.
