Carved sign faces are 1.5" thick, 18lb High Density Urethane. Posts are 6" cedar, stained with a semi-transparent oil stain, topped with hammered copper, then banded with 2" copper
collars. Ropes wraps are 1" manilla and the draping spans between piling groups is 2" manilla. All rope was infused with semi-transparent oil stain for protection and color fastness. |
Pilings and rope and copper everywhere. This entry sign for a campground in the town of Dennis, MA was our first introduction to the approval board known as the "Old King's Highway Historic District Committee". Four
extra weeks were added to this job because of the stringent application and approval process. In the end, only one concession had to me given, the omission of some additional decorative posts under the two
main uprights. When the ground lighting and landscaping are completed, this display will fit right in nicely with its surroundings.
