This is the original concept for the sign. The Kings Highway Historic Board loved it and approved it. The Town of Yarmouth sign inspector halted us though, declaring that all signs in that town (by code) are limited to two colors. Now, I'm not saying that the sign inspector is a bad guy, but I think that's a mighty weird rule for a town to impose district wide in ANY area, historic or not. We argue that this color scheme would have been just as appropriate and made the sign easier to read. But we're only professionals, not bureaucrats. You can lead a horse to water...
