 This very special sign in the heart of Chatham's
historic district incorporates many custom effects. It is handcarved and gold leafed with a background of black granular glass called "smalts". Verdigree accents are carved in HDU then copper leafed and treated to produce an
accelerated rich green mottled patina.
Note the assymetrical post finials.
Chatham's Historic Business District Committee had more than a little pause deciding whether this design was appropriate for it's very proper downtown. We thank them for having
enough faith in us to allow this 'radical' departure.
