Template Routing36 Tee signs all exactly the same shape were cut with a router and template collar (left). Note the white 1/2"PVC template clamped to the 1.5"HDU blank.

Assembly Line! Then the cove routed edges were added (right), wooden mounting cleats were epoxeed to the back for attaching the custom bracket hardware, and the blanks were taken to Recon Auto Body (below) in Orleans, MA for an automotive finish.

Automotive FinishWhen cured, the tee sign panels were shipped to Meriden Connecticut for computer v-carving on a CNC router. With the small details and the tight timeframe of this job, it would have been impractical to perform all this work with only chisels. So hand carving was reserved for the larger directional and identity signs.

InstallationInstallation of the 36 tee signs with their custom rope-wrapped cedar posts required the aid of a power auger. Even with this mighty tool, the installation in the far-flung recesses of this massive course was a four day event.
